How we rate
The shortlist score is out of 10. It is rebuilt from pages we opened on 16 October 2026, not from a template of 9/10s. The previous site gave almost every brand a 9. That number is retired.
The five checks
| Check | Points | What earns them |
|---|---|---|
| Banking | 0–3 | Rand pricing and payment methods we could name from the operator’s own page. |
| Offer | 0–2 | A figure, and ideally a code or minimum, quoted from the page. No figure, no points. |
| Licence line | 0–2 | A licence sentence in the operator footer that we can quote. A logo without words does not count. A 403 does not count. |
| Product | 0–2 | A lobby or sportsbook a South African adult can understand from the public site: currency, game count or a clear sports product. |
| Track record | 0–1 | A dated operating claim on the operator site, or a board licence number we could read. |
What we do not score
We do not score “trust” from a forum thread. We do not raise a score because a link pays commission. We do not lower a score because a link does not. Brands without a tracked link are simply not in the shortlist. The four names we list and do not rank — AceLucky, BetNeptune, LekkerBets, AfricaSports — get no score, no offer box and no sidebar placement.
Archive reviews keep their old facts and get no new score. A euro bonus from the earlier site is not comparable with a rand coupon today.
Corrections
If a quoted line is wrong, email hello@seomighty.com with the URL and the sentence. We would rather correct a quote than defend it.
